What is Restylane?
Restylane is a cosmetic dermal fillers that replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to the skin to smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
They are made of hyaluronic acid (HA) – a material that is a naturally present in the skin, joints and tissues of all living things. It plays an important role in moisturizing your skin and helps give skin its elasticity by holding water molecules, maintaining the volume and structure of the skin.
As we age, we lose hyaluronic acid from the skin losing its volume and structure.
When Restylane is injected into the dermis, it replenishes natural hyaluronic acid and hydrates the skin by absorbing and holding the water molecules. This results in restored volume and youthful contours.
Restylane is used for mild to severe wrinkles and folds, as well as to add volume to the mid face and cheeks.
